How does Zip Xpress ensure on-time delivery?

Our customers expect the best from our expedited freight shipping, which is why we structure our entire planning process to meet the scheduled time.  Our seasoned planners use software tools to supplement their own hands-on experience in making sure the product arrives safely and on time.

Does Zip Xpress deliver to locations that don’t have a truck dock?

Many of our customers require service to nontraditional delivery destinations.  For example, we often make deliveries of furniture to office buildings that don’t have truck docks.  Our Road Pilots are taught to expect the unexpected and to make every delivery successful, regardless of site limitations.

How late in the day does Zip Xpress pick up shipments?

You decide.  We understand that late pickup can happen because of many unforeseen circumstances.  When necessary, we pick up as late as physically possible and still make it to the departing long-haul truck.

How does Zip Xpress prevent shipment damage?

Our freight handlers are trained and experienced in safely loading and securing the most sensitive cargo.  We control quality by using two-person loading teams.  The teams have one responsibility: Load every single shipment for damage-free delivery.

How does Zip Xpress measure greenhouse-gas emissions?

We use industry standards for carbon and other emissions. Our management team reviews performance each month and strives to continuously improve our measurement and response to emissions reporting.

How does Zip Xpress minimize carbon footprint?

First and foremost, we minimize the carbon footprint by optimizing the load plan for each trailer.  In addition, our equipment fleet is renewed regularly to maintain the best practices for engine performance and reduced emissions.  Our team regularly experiments with new technologies to minimize our carbon footprint; for example, incorporation of auxiliary power units and improved aerodynamics.

How does Zip Xpress plan and optimize shipments?

Our seasoned staff members work together to ensure the load planning process is geographic but also integrated. We build loads based upon geography and, when necessary, extend the geography to serve nearer points while en route to more distant destinations.

What is the minimum size shipment for planning and optimization?

There is no minimum size for planning and optimization.  If we can efficiently deliver a single pallet as a direct delivery, we will do it.

What is the difference between LTL and truckload multi-stop?

Most of our shipments deliver as truckload multi-stop, meaning the shipment travels the entire distance on the same truck.  Sometimes smaller shipments cannot be delivered efficiently using the same truck.  When necessary, we use specialized LTL partner carriers to handle the “final-mile” delivery.
